Biblissima and Stanford University: Viewer Interoperability Meetings
From 13th to 17th May 2013, Biblissima and the Bibliothèque nationale de France will be hosting a series of meetings with the Digital Manuscript Technical Working Group of Stanford University Libraries, on the subject of interoperability and shared viewers for digital libraries. In addition to members of the team at Stanford, representatives from other American and European partners will be in attendance.
An open session on interoperability standards will be held on Friday, 17th May at 2pm, to address the following points:
- Why interoperability? What are the benefits?
- New standards for interoperability: SharedCanvas, IIIF and the data models they are based upon
- Current developments in the US
- Current developments in Europe
